Bob Monroe
Retired Senior Pastor
Bob accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior as a young boy and in 1971 during the 'Jesus Movement', he fully surrendered his life to the Lord. He sat under the teaching of Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and was mentored by Pastor Steve Mays of South Bay Calvary Chapel. He also attended an Internship at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in Southern California, under the teaching of Chuck Smith Jr and Dr. Van Cleave. Bob was the evangelist at Calvary Chapel Bellflower, California and taught home bible studies before moving to Washington State in 1983 where he pastored a small fellowship for 6 years. He then moved to Spokane, Washington and taught a home bible study until being called to full-time ministry in 2008 in Deer Park, Washington where he still is the senior pastor.
Pastor Bob teaches through the bible, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. He loves leading people to Jesus Christ and watching them grow in the Word, believing that this is the most effective way to understand scripture and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. He loves the people at CCDP and enjoys fellowshiping with them on a regular basis. The children at CCDP, lovingly call him "Pastor Pappy". It is truly a blessing to be a part of these family's lives!
Pastor Bob is married to Jodie, his wife of 51 years. They have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. He loves spending time with his family and his grandchildren are a huge blessing. Besides studying the Word, some of his hobbies are: fishing, hunting, making sausages, smoking, curing meats and riding motorcycles.
It's been a blessing from the Lord to serve as head pastor of Calvary Chapel Deer Park since 2008 and he looks forward to retirement at the end of 2023. He's anxious to see where the Lord will lead him in the next chapter of his life.
